Dear Abby,
My neighbor and I have been friends for many years, but things have changed. Now she has leased her property for Marcellus shale drilling and my home will be down wind from the well and only a few dozen feet from our vegetable garden!!! I am at my wit's end with her and don't know what to do! I feel somewhat betrayed by her and have recently heard that one can sue their neighbor for an anticipated nuisance. In her defense, I don't think she knew what she was doing when she signed the lease. However, now she refuses to speak to me and I am in a quandary. Such danger my family will be in! What can I do?

Sincerely,
Has the world gone mad

Dear Has the world gone mad,

Sometimes, money can change people. but give your neighbor another chance! It's likely that she is just a victim too, the lies and unscrupulousness of the profit driven gas industry knows no bounds. However, if your neighbor can not be reached by reason alone, you may want to look into the information on the legal side, at this site- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andrew-reinbach/stop-gas-drilling-sue-you_b_787881.html
